Single-girder overhead travelling crane is a kind of lifting equipment mounted over workshops, warehouses and stockyards for material handling. As its two ends rest on tall concrete columns or metal supports, it is shaped like a bridge. The bridge of the single-girder overhead travelling crane travels longitudinally along the rails laid on the elevated structures on both sides, enabling full use of the space under the bridge for lifting materials without being obstructed by ground-based equipment. It is one of the most widely used and numerous types of lifting machinery.
Single-girder overhead travelling cranes are equipped with electric hoists or manual chain hoists as their lifting mechanisms. Two operation modes are available, namely floor operation and overhead operation. Floor operation includes wired pendant control and wireless remote control, while overhead operation refers to operation from the driver’s cab. Driver’s cabs fall into open type and closed type, and can be installed on the left or right side according to actual conditions. In addition, access to the cab can be arranged from the side or the end, so as to meet the diverse needs of users.
